Follicle-tracking uses a short series of ultrasound scans, often with blood tests, to watch how your follicles grow across a cycle. It guides the timing of a trigger shot, an IUI, or egg retrieval. The visits are quick but frequent, so a little organizing helps. Here is what to prepare, what to ask, and how to follow up.

— Your appointment, start to finish

Three steps to timing you can trust

01
Before your visit

Prepare

Expect several early appointments across one cycle, sometimes on short notice, so keep your mornings flexible where you can. Note the first day of your last period, since your cycle day guides each scan.

List your current medications, including any fertility medications and the doses, since these can change based on each scan. Bring your notes from earlier scans so growth can be compared.

Bring these questions

  • What are you measuring at each scan, and what looks good?
  • How are my follicles and lining developing?
  • Does my medication dose change based on today's results?
  • When is my next scan, and what is the likely timing for the next step?
02
During your visit

Make the time count

Each visit is usually a short scan, sometimes with a blood draw, and results often come back the same day. Ask what today's numbers mean for your dose and timing, since that is what guides the next step.

Take notes as the doctor talks, record the meeting (with their permission!) in myStoria, or add a quick voice note to myStoria as soon as possible afterward so that you are not relying on memory alone.

Before you leave the clinic, ask for copies of anything from the visit, like lab results, assessments, or referrals, and upload them to myStoria to keep your history complete. (If you aren't able to get copies, connect with Concierge and we can help you source them!)

03
After your visit

Follow up

Note the follicle sizes, lining, and any dose change after each scan, and confirm when to come back. Keeping the numbers together makes the trend across the cycle easy to see.

Follow any change to your medication exactly, and confirm the timing of your trigger shot or next step, since it is time-sensitive. Contact your clinic if you have severe pain or bloating, which can need prompt review.

How myStoria helps

Every appointment starts prepared

myStoria keeps your scan results, cycle day, and medication doses in one private place, so a run of quick appointments reads as one clear trend rather than scattered numbers. Everything stays with you between visits, so each scan builds on the last. When you want to talk something through, you can schedule a video consult in advance with a member of our team, several of whom are nurses.
