Seasonal allergies are common, but the right treatment depends on your pattern and what you have already tried. The details you bring make the visit more useful. Here is what to prepare, what to ask, and how to follow up.

— Your appointment, start to finish

Three steps to an allergy visit that gets you relief

01
Before your visit

Prepare

Track when your symptoms flare, what they are, like sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, or a runny nose, and how much they affect your sleep and day. Note whether certain places, seasons, or triggers make them worse.

Write down the allergy medications, sprays, or drops you have tried, how often you used them, and how well they worked. List any other conditions like asthma that tend to go with allergies.

Bring these questions

  • What is likely triggering my symptoms?
  • Which treatment should I try first?
  • Would allergy testing help?
  • What can I do to reduce my exposure?
02
During your visit

Make the time count

Expect your doctor to ask about your pattern and triggers, check your nose and eyes, and talk through treatment options. Share your notes early so the visit lands on a plan that fits your life.

Take notes as the doctor talks, record the meeting (with their permission!) in myStoria, or add a quick voice note to myStoria as soon as possible afterward so that you are not relying on memory alone.

Before you leave the clinic, ask for copies of anything from the visit, like lab results, assessments, or referrals, and upload them to myStoria to keep your history complete. (If you aren't able to get copies, connect with Concierge and we can help you source them!)

03
After your visit

Follow up

After the visit, track whether the treatment is easing your symptoms and note any side effects. Allergy treatments often need a little adjusting to get right.

If your symptoms are not improving, or you have wheezing or trouble breathing, book a follow-up rather than pushing through. Bring your notes so the next visit builds on this one.

How myStoria helps

Every appointment starts prepared

myStoria keeps your symptoms, triggers, and the treatments you have tried in one place, so your appointment starts from a clear pattern instead of guesswork. Everything stays with you between visits, so a follow-up builds on the last. And when you want to talk something through, you can schedule a video consult in advance with a member of our team, several of whom are nurses.
