A conversation about weight goes better with real detail than round numbers. What you track before the visit helps you and your doctor find a plan that actually fits.

— Your appointment, start to finish

Three steps to a weight visit that respects your goals

01
Before your visit

Prepare

Note your weight history over time, not just today, and what has changed recently in sleep, stress, appetite, or activity. Track your typical meals and movement for a week without judging them, just so the picture is honest.

List your medications and any conditions that affect weight, like thyroid or blood sugar. Write down what you have already tried and what got in the way, so you do not start from scratch.

Bring these questions

  • What factors are likely affecting my weight?
  • Should we check anything, like thyroid or blood sugar?
  • What approach would you suggest first, and why?
  • Are medications or a referral an option for me?
  • What is a realistic goal to aim for by the next visit?
02
During your visit

Make the time count

Your doctor may review your history, check a few basics, and ask about your routine and goals. Lead with your notes so the time goes to building a plan, not filling in blanks.

Take notes as the doctor talks, record the meeting (with their permission!) in myStoria, or add a quick voice note to myStoria as soon as possible afterward so that you are not relying on memory alone.

Before you leave the clinic, ask for copies of anything from the visit, like lab results, assessments, or referrals, and upload them to myStoria to keep your history complete. (If you aren't able to get copies, connect with Concierge and we can help you source them!)

03
After your visit

Follow up

Track the changes you agree on and how they feel, not just the scale. Progress in energy, sleep, and habits matters as much as the number.

If a plan is not working or a medication causes side effects, book a follow-up rather than pushing through. Bring your notes so the next visit adjusts from where you actually are.

How myStoria helps

Every appointment starts prepared

myStoria keeps your history, medications, and questions together, so every appointment starts prepared and picks up cleanly at the next one. When you want to talk something through between visits, you can schedule a video consult in advance with a member of our team, several of whom are nurses.
