Most bites and stings cause brief itching or swelling that settles on its own. Knowing which reactions need a visit, and what to bring, helps you act quickly when it matters.
Note what bit or stung you if you know, when it happened, and how the area has changed since. Track the size of any swelling, whether it is spreading, and any warmth, streaking, or fever.
List past reactions to bites or stings, any known allergies, and whether you carry an epinephrine auto-injector. Bring the medications you take and anything you have already tried for relief.
Your clinician will look at the area, ask about the timing, and check for signs of infection or a wider allergic reaction. Share your notes so your history and any past reactions are clear.
Take notes as the doctor talks, record the meeting (with their permission!) in myStoria, or add a quick voice note to myStoria as soon as possible afterward so that you are not relying on memory alone.
Before you leave the clinic, ask for copies of anything from the visit, like lab results, assessments, or referrals, and upload them to myStoria to keep your history complete. (If you aren't able to get copies, connect with Concierge and we can help you source them!)
Keep an eye on the area and note whether swelling and itching ease over the next few days. Follow the plan you were given for relief and for preventing infection.
Get emergency help right away for trouble breathing, swelling of the lips or throat, dizziness, or a widespread rash, as these can signal a severe allergic reaction.
