Hyperemesis gravidarum is not morning sickness. Here's what causes it, who's at higher risk, and how to have a treatment plan ready before symptoms start.
Prenatal checkups track your health and your baby's through pregnancy, so coming in with your notes and questions helps you get the most from each visit. Here is what to prepare, what to ask, and how to follow up.
Track how you have been feeling since your last visit, including any symptoms, and note anything you are unsure about. Keep a record of movements later in pregnancy and any readings you take at home.
Write down your questions, note how far along you are, and bring any results or notes from previous visits. List your current medications and supplements, including prenatal vitamins.
Expect your provider to check your health and your baby's, review any results, and answer your questions. Lead with your notes so nothing gets missed.
Take notes as the doctor talks, record the meeting (with their permission!) in myStoria, or add a quick voice note to myStoria as soon as possible afterward so that you are not relying on memory alone.
Before you leave the clinic, ask for copies of anything from the visit, like lab results, assessments, or referrals, and upload them to myStoria to keep your history complete. (If you aren't able to get copies, connect with Concierge and we can help you source them!)
After the visit, note any results, book your next checkup, and follow any guidance you were given. A clear record helps each visit build on the last.
If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, a bad headache, reduced baby movements, or your water breaks early, seek care right away.
myStoria keeps how you have been feeling, your results, and your questions in one place, so each prenatal checkup starts from a clear picture. Everything stays with you between visits, so a follow-up builds on the last. And when you want to talk something through, you can schedule a video consult in advance with a member of our team, several of whom are nurses.
